The hair is real. So is the talent.
Bello is carrying on a family circus tradition that started seven generations ago in Switzerland. It began in earnest in the USA in 1954, when John Ringling North hired "The Nerveless Nocks" to perform risky acrobatics atop steel sway poles 60 to 80 feet in the air. Bello is the youngest of the four show business sons of Eugene Nock and Aurelia Canestrelli Nock. By age 3, he was in Disney's Dumbo Circus and at age 5, played Little Michael Darby in "Peter Pan" with Cathy Rigby on Broadway and with Sandy Duncan on the national tour. At 9, he was working on the low wire in Mexico. But the Nocks liked non-touring jobs, such as summers at the Wisconsin Dells theme park. Bello left to join Circo Atayde in Mexico, where his performances over a season won him the award of world's best clown. In the late 1990's, it was on to New York and the Big Apple Circus, and from there to the Greatest Show on Earth and recognition as America's best clown (according to Time Magazine). For a man who dances, sings, composes music, plays 12 instruments and speaks five languages, you'd think there was precious little to conquer. Enter silent movies. Bello's association with FAMILY FLICKERS offers a new generation of kids and adults, the chance to enjoy something special---a full dose of Bello Nock, and all his sensational talents.
